About PrivateGP and Health Care in the UK

Aims and objectives 2006

Private GP is planning to form one of the first fully independent Primary Care networks in Britain.

We will employ the changes brought about by the NHS Plan to provide core services, additional services and secondary care in the community. We aim to be the first independent corporate general medical practice.

Our philosophy is to create a true one-stop-shop on a local basis:

General medical care

Dentistry

Pharmacy

Enhanced services

Consultant clinics

Allied health professionals

Alternative practitioners

To achieve this we will make use of the new GMS and sPMS legislation. Our services will be available to registered and non-registered patients. We will also apply new models of care, including:

Advanced Chronic Disease Management

Preferred provider referrals

Care utilisation review and outcome measurement

Managed care networks

We will actively seek a partnership with a major healthcare provider from the independent sector, and provide clinical and management services to both NHS, private and insured patients and clients. With this in mind, we intend to set up a pilot site in which an independent company takes over a working General Medical Practice under the new provisions for UK healthcare.
